2020 was an interesting year to but it nicely. While many of us faced challenging scenarios and uncertain business conditions but during this time we quietly chugged along notching up some small wins along the way.
As a first post I thought it was a good opportunity to highlight a few things that happened in our startups journey as we continued on our mission to make services access to anyone regarding of their physical location.
We spent a lot of time revisiting what we actually do
From our infancy the Social Interaction HQ’s focus was on providing a platform to allow mental health organisations to quickly transition to remote service delivery. Allowing automated bookings with or without payments, the ability to record clients notes, upload and manage files and administrative functions to schedule and report on organisational performance.
In 2020 we hit a few big milestones including launching platforms for the Australian Institute of Family Counselling, working with The OzHelp Foundation to provide online capability for their remote construction industry offering and shifting our focus to the legal profession through our partnership with Blumers Lawyers.
We also were successful in receiving an Innovation Connect Grant from the ACT Government and were successful in our application to join the Griffin Accelerator program with the Canberra Innovation Network. This 3 month intensive program challenged us in ways we could never have imagined, with tight timelines and fantastic mentor support.
Startup life has always been challenging but in the space of this 3 months program we pivoted (several times), changed our entire business model and really focused on what we offer and why we offer it.
The conclusion of the program was an investor pitch to some of Canberra’s most experienced angel investors and we were lucky enough to receive further investment to scale and grow and we are incredibly excited to see what 2021 has in store.
